One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been mentoring aspiring healthcare professionals. As a young faculty member, I developed a course for fourth-year medical students to help them transition to residency. Watching these eager students prepare for the challenges ahead was an incredible experience.
Over a decade later, I still hear from those students, now accomplished leaders in medicine, about how that course shaped their early careers. This reinforces my belief that mentorship is one of the most powerful tools we have to inspire lasting change in healthcare.
Mentorship isn’t about teaching skills alone; it’s about instilling confidence and igniting a passion for making a difference.
